New race - Imperial Guard - what are the unit types?
This race is one of the most desired by our fan base, and
it supports a play-style we wanted to utilize - "turtle".
The Imperial Guard - Unlike Space Marines, who are more
precise like a nail, the mentality of the Imperial Guard is to hit as hard as
possible with as many weapons as possible in order to break the enemy in two.
What they lack in finesse, they make up for with weight of numbers and
overwhelming firepower.
In general terms, the Imperial Guard have the same basic
set as the other races. A builder unit, a few commander units, several different
types of infantry along with some unique use infantry, plus a whole range of
great vehicles.
More Missions
There will definitely be 12 SPG missions, with more
unique gameplay. As far additional MP maps
New strategies
The Imperial Guard race is a much more defense oriented
race. It will appeal to people who like a slower build of game, or maybe can't
handle the super fast paced aggressive play of DOW. There are also 4 new other
units, one for each of the existing races, so they'll add new strategy as well.
Complete tech tree (new structures) - for The Imperial
Guard
We're creating a tech tree from scratch for the Imperial
Guard, but the other ones are remaining basically the same, with some minor
changes.
Enhance existing urban terrain
Most of the expansion will be based in the snow, so all
the existing art is being modified to look like a miserable winter. We're also
creating new building types, and other environmental goodies.
More objects, structures, etc.
We're adding more things like burning barrels, cars,
garbage bins, that sort of thing. Just to make the environment just a little bit
more alive.
More custom set-pieces for the Single Player Game
For each of the SPG missions, we're working on more
unique centerpieces.
